"Fierce: women of the bible who changed the world"

book study

LED BY SHERRIE AND EMMALEE TRIBBLE  |  WOMEN ONLY

THIS LIFE GROUP STARTS FEBRUARY 19TH  |  DINNER AT 6PM/STUDY AT 6:30PM

The word fierce is trendy. It is used to describe women who are extreme athletes, high-level executives, or supermodels. Women at the top of their game. But what about the rest of us? Can we be fierce? Absolutely! In fact, women like us have been changing the world for thousands of years—many who received little fanfare yet lived fiercely anyway. In this six-week study we will look at lesser-known female characters in the Bible and the ways they changed the world by living into God’s calling.

"STUCK: THE PLACES WE GET STUCK AND THE GOD WHO SETS US FREE"

BOOK/VIDEO STUDY

LED BY TERRI BUNCH  |  CO-ED

So many of us live stuck. Stuck in trying to seem perfect. Stuck in sadness. Stuck feeling numb. Stuck pursuing more stuff to make us happy. Stuck in something we can't even name. These stuck places often go unattended inside of us and they are shaping our lives more than we would like to think. In Stuck, Bible teacher Jennie Allen shows us where we are stuck and why.

Through deep Bible study and practical exercises, Jennie shows us how we've been trying to fix this stuck feeling with everything but God. He has a plan for these spaces inside of us, the places we feel broken, but we have to go to Him. Stuck is a journey to take an honest look at the fight going on inside, leading us to the God who has a plan to restore us. Our stuck places are the very places that make us ache for God, and we find Him waiting there for us with hope and freedom.

"REST AND RISE: BE IN YOUR WORK"

BOOK STUDY

LED BY LAUREN BARRACK AND DANIELLE HERNANDEZ  |  WOMEN ONLY

The solution is not to quit or to work harder; but to learn how to rest.

Think of the last time you felt refreshed. Did you check out and veg out, or press in to what you really needed?

When you rest in the Lord, He will multiply your work.

Rest and Rise will guide you through a refreshing cycle of prayer and purpose as you dig into Matthew 11:28-30, Jesus’ invitation to come to Him for rest.

"THE POWER TO CHANGE"

BOOK/VIDEO STUDY

LED BY KATHIE GILSON  |  WOMEN ONLY

Nothing is more frustrating than knowing you need to change and trying to change, but failing to change. You feel stuck, no matter how hard you try. Craig Groeschel, author of Winning the War in Your Mind, knows what it's like to be caught in that cycle. That was his own story—until he discovered these practical and biblical principles for experiencing lasting change.

"THE BOOK OF RUTH"

BOOK/VIDEO STUDY

LED BY CHEYENNE BROTHERS AND JAIME GOMES  |  SINGLE MOMS

God can seem distant when dreams fade, people die, or careers fail. It may feel like He slammed the door in your face and walked out for good. No one knows the feeling of abandonment more than Ruth and Naomi. Their story begins with the worst—death, famine, and poverty. And God remains silent.

But the book of Ruth doesn’t end with despair. The story brims with hope because God works on behalf of the two widows in ways they least expect. In this 7-part series, Bianca Juárez Olthoff, speaker and author of Play with Fire, teaches through Ruth to show how God moves behind the scenes in our lives. On the surface, this book tells the story of two widows and a kind landowner. Even more, it teaches us about God’s faithfulness, love, and providence.

Walk the journey of Ruth, Naomi, and Boaz and discover the devoted love of God and His transformative power in our lives.

"GOD OF FREEDOM"

BOOK/VIDEO STUDY

LED BY GINA BELFIELD AND MARY BOB GAULDING  |  WOMEN ONLY

Every book of the Bible tells us what is true about God. In Genesis we see Him as Creator and Covenant Maker. In Exodus we see Him as our strong Deliverer who sets us free from sin and death.
In this 10-session study of Exodus 19–40, journey through the story of how God shepherds His newly-liberated children into an understanding of what their freedom means: lives consecrated for service to God and to one another. Revisit familiar scenes of the giving of the Ten Commandments, the idolatrous worship of a golden calf, and of the intricate details of the tabernacle. And with fresh perspective, ask what these stories teach God's children today about how to live as those set free.
In every page of the Bible, learn to see Christ through the stories of His people. And discover how the God who created you and made a covenant with you will deliver you from death to life, for His name and renown.
