Rappahannock Church of Christ

Penny Barton and her husband, Billy, came to Rappahannock in August 2004 when they were looking for a new church for their family. They feel that what they found was much more than they could have ever imagined; they found a place where they could all truly worship and serve.

While spending thirteen years as an in home childcare provider (and raising her own little ones), Penny went back to school. She earned an Associate in Applied Science degree with a major in Business Management and a specialization in Information Systems Technology; as well as certificates in Administrative Support Technology and Microcomputer Applications. After that she went to work at the Bank of Northumberland in Callao.

But in the spring of 2005 Penny felt that God had called her to serve full time and she accepted the position as the first ever secretary for Rappahannock Church of Christ. She is usually the first person you will see if you stop by and the first person you will speak to if you call. Penny spends her days trying to keep up with the church's three ministers and her evenings with her husband and their four children: Katie, Hannah, Nathaniel, Brittany; their son-in-law, Adam and their new grand baby, Ava.

She says, "I feel so blessed to be even a small part of this incredible ministry team we have here at Rappahannock. I thank God everyday for his Son, my family and this ministry!"
