Jim Ward and his wife Karen moved to the Northern Neck in 1988 to enjoy the “country life.” They soon became members of the Rappahannock Church of Christ and fell in love with the people and the lifestyle. A family was next on the agenda and they began raising their son Nash and daughter Katherine.
In 1994 Jim felt God was calling him into the ministry and so a year later the whole family moved to Cincinnati, Ohio where Jim attended the Cincinnati Christian University. He graduated in 1999 with a bachelor’s degree in Music Ministry with an emphasis in Preaching and accepted the call to minister at the Bridgetown Church of Christ in Cincinnati. In 2001 he was called to a small congregation in the beautiful mountains of Virginia at the Botetourt Church of Christ where he served for two years.
The family had an opportunity to move back “home” to the Northern Neck and they jumped on it. In June of 2005 Jim accepted the call as Associate Minister here at the Rappahannock Church of Christ.
Jim says, “It has been a wonderful blessing for me to minister to my home congregation and with the people I love so much. I am passionate about teaching men to have a heart for Christ and making Jesus real in people’s lives.”
Jim’s ministry includes Pastoral Counseling, Teaching, Preaching, Worship Leading, Technical Leadership and conducting the Orchestra.
