Wanna know the truth? We exist to pull off just ONE event a year. It’s the Annual Josh Baughan Ride-In held on the first Sunday every June. The first year, we expected hopefully 50 motorcycles and well over 100 showed up. The second year, it was over 200. The third year, over 250. We designate ONE critically ill child every year to help. (None have been attenders of this church) We love making a HUGE difference in one family. We charge NOTHING for the event, (Co-sponsored by Fredericksburg Motor Sports) and accept donations only. The first year we were blown away by the generosity of the bikers from around the state who came and donated almost $10,000. The third year, over $20,000was raised!
Bikers don’t tend to like a lot of organization. “Live Free,” “Born to Be Wild,” blah, blah, blah. We’re pretty much the same. Our Biker Ministry is not a, shall we say, highly STRUCTURED group?? We’re a bunch of people who love Jesus, and REALLY LIKE motorcycles! Rarely do we do something all together. We tend to network and members organize into smaller groups to ride whenever a few can get the same day off! Yeah, we’ve been to the Tail of The Dragon (U.S. 129 in Tennessee) a couple of times, but more likely, 5 to 10 bikes will take a day trip somewhere.
